Job Summary

The SCM Project Manager will drive ongoing enhancements and increased efficiency within Jabil’s global price administration process. This person will manage indirect resources dedicated to improving Jabil’s global supply chain processes and software.

The SCM Project Manager strategizes and utilizes defined tools to monitor project cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value to the customer. The SCM Project Manager must know and understand the business strategic direction of the Sector being supported and remain current and knowledgeable of technology advances in commodities sourced.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the purchasing community to ensure pricing implementation that increase the efficiency of Jabil’s global price administration process and allow Jabil to stay in front of our competition from a supply chain management standpoint.
• Forge successful relationships with the purchasing community and suppliers to work and apply new negotiated prices.
• Follow SC metrics for evaluating successful supply chain performance.
• Coordinate within Supply Chain and Purchasing actions to address supply chain problems.
• Master the Supply Chain tools used in the global price administration process to ensure they meet Jabil’s business needs.
• Track, drive and communicate all Supply Chain KPI changes and enhancements.
• Assist Business Units in identifying cost reduction opportunities for sourced components.
• Work with the Legal Department to provide legal protection for confidential/ intellectual property by assuring non-disclosure agreements are in place.
• Works with commodity management to establish procurement strategies that support the acquisition of materials for new or transfer products.
• Identify functional alternatives where technology or vendor base risks warrant. Specifically on single sourced items or components requiring tooling. Establish procurement business systems and controls to analyze and quantify the cost and risk impact of the various supplier alternatives (e.g. single and sole sourcing).
• Help in performing value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) on new or existing products in a cooperative effort with various engineering groups, the suppliers and quality assurance.
• Demonstrate a return on investment for all enhancements made to Jabil’s supply chain tools or processes.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply, follow, and enforce all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  

Job Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of Jabil’s SCM software.
• Ability to define software requirements and create procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information or training material and respond to questions from relatively large groups of people.
• Strong problem solving, analytic, negotiation, project management and people skills are a must.
• Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, summarize information and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines.
  

Summary

The SCPM is the interlink between specific JTS (Projects) as SCM organization and the supplier market; Leading Buyer/planer and Component Engineer to procure all materials necessary to support prototype builds per program management requirements in assigned project; Managing strategic relationships with key suppliers; defining supplier development and material procurement plans aligning with project plans; communication & reporting, identifying and controlling SCM risks, problem solving; Supporting lead SCPM on subgroup management.

Supply Chain Team Guidance

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide supplier (market) as cost guidance on key components as commodities, via GCM and DCM, during the PDP process after reviewing with lead SCPM. Identify competitive functional alternatives during the definition stages of the project. Work closely with Product Architecture or Project Manager to match Jabil and customer road maps to supplier road maps based on lead SCPM direction. Scan for new suppliers and manage their initial selection. Coordinate with the purchasing community to structure the relation with our suppliers. Supporting lead SCPM on the overview and projects progress management of the unit. Following and executing strategies viable for the domain with reference to Jabil’s Strategies. Adhere Jabil’s rules. Use all system tools in daily works effectively. Participate in process improvement and process development within the domain.

Cost Management

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Participating key negotiations for ASIC’s within assigned RFQ or assigned program including component price evolution. Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, Just-in-Time delivery schedules, reduced lead times and cancellation terms, return privileges, and EDI/SIS demand communication with key suppliers falling outside JABIL’S strategic supplier base.

Technical Management Responsibilities

Project Management

Work in concert with Global & Divisional Commodity Management (GCM & DCM) on assigned programs, lead the effort to obtain full commodity and sourcing control of BOM and AVL in the design phase. Assist in executing the RFQ as appropriate for the program. Thorough understanding and experience in the basic processes of PDP to support (T) PM. Execute Jabil’s Early Supplier Involvement program. Assuring the completeness and accuracy of the different databases with purchasing data and contributing to the underlying processes. (Transfer – Production sites)

Customer Service and Business Development

Become the Jabil supply chain expert as it relates to the particular market and strategy Anticipate and meet/exceed customer expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively. Make program and customer service issues the top priority. Represent Jabil’s materials team in a professional manner during program meetings, audits, presentations and conference calls. Comply and follow all procedures within the company security and ethics policies.

Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is must. Other discipline’s will be considered with a proven track record in Computing and Storage market segment. Prefer minimum 5 years supply chain related experience at a major OEM in the Computing and Storage market segment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a design and product launch environment is important. An understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials management as well as a proven track record in negotiation, and cost reduction activities; Strong leadership skills. Domestic and international travel is required (up to 30%).
