Job Summary

The Intern Software Engineer, Digital and Transformation will take part in the design, development, and enhancement of West IoT applications. He/She will work with an international team to bring power of IoT in the Pharmaceutical space to enable more efficient and effective medical device production as well as instrumentally contribute to West Pharma IoT digital health internal capabilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Learn and apply the software industry state-of-the art practices and technologies
• Design & implement new features and improvements on frontend, backend components
• Conduct Proof-of-Concept projects independently and produce technical documentation
• Support senior members in improving the CICD automation
• Join team activities to produce high quality software and documentation
• Communicate proactively progress and status of tasks to senior members
• Support senior roles to deliver project from prototypes to production release
• Other Duties as assigned
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent preferred
• Software development experience preferred
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Strong motivation and interest in latest technology trends
• Good fundamental knowledge about programming and information systems
• Knowledge of at least one programming language Following languages a plus: Javascript, Elixir/Erlang, Go, Ruby, Python
• Development project completion experience preferred
• Experience using standard web technologies (HTML, CSS3, HTTP, MQTT) a plus:
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes & Git a plus
• Good English technical writing ability a plus
• Ability to work autonomously with a self-motivated work ethic
• Able to comply with the company safety and quality policies at all times
