R&D Director (TW Site Lead)

Your Role:

We are seeking an R&D director to lead the R&D group in Hsinchu (Zhudong) for CMP slurry development for the semiconductor fabrication industry. The Lead will supervise the entire R&D site consisting of formulation lab, analytical lab, clean room, and small-volume manufacturing for customer sampling. The team includes R&D scientists, formulation chemists, clean room engineers, analytical chemists and EHS.

• Lead and being accountable for site safety and quality of daily operation
• Develop strategy in transforming R&D site, team, product & customer engagement
• Participate in external meetings (customers / technical meetings) to promote technical capabilities
• Lead research and formulation development of the CMP slurry; create high value-added formulated products for semiconductor manufacturing
• Direct the tactical and strategic activities of the team, collaborate with global R&D teams
• Be the spokesperson of the R&D team and work closely with applications, marketing, and commercial teams
• Lead intellectual property development (e.g., patent filings)

Who You Are:

• Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Physics or Material Science
• 10 + years’ experience in Research and Development
• 5+ years of experience in management role
• Technical depth in formulations, surfactants, polymers, colloidal chemistry, electrochemistry, and defect metrology is desired
• Strong experience in developing ideas/concepts into product
• Professional verbal and written communication in Mandarin and English
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills that support a diverse team environment
• Strong technical background in semiconductor industry
• Surface chemistry knowledge and experience
• Experience with statistical analysis and data analytics
