Project Manager

Location:Taipei, Taiwan

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and be responsible for Renewable Energy initiatives in their entirety, from inception to completion. This includes planning and managing operations to ensure each phase of the project is done on time and within budget. A key part of this is allocating the right resources, to the right areas, at the right times.
• Foster a safety first and risk management culture in project teams.
• Develop and manage the project scope and timelines.
• Prepare and manage the project budget during the development and construction phase.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead project review meetings & reporting (both internal & external).
• Ensure the safe, high quality, on-budget and on time engineering and construction of renewable power generation facilities, particularly solar and wind power projects.
• Identify project risks and develop and implement mitigation plans for the project including engineering, supply chain, construction and commercial aspects.
• Interaction with financial institutions and banks for fulfilling the condition’s precedent related to disbursement of funds during the project execution phase.
• Assist in the improvement and implementation of systems to maximize safety, quality and efficiency in construction with timely delivery and insightful resource management and forecasting.
• Develop local teams (including outsourced resourced and consultants) that can efficiently deliver new renewable power systems.
• Develop and implement systems to accurately forecast key milestones for engineering and construction activities and forecast the resources required to meet these milestones.
• Ensure completion of the handover process to the Asset Management team.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or similar level technical or commercial training.
• Certified Project Management professionals will be preferred.
• Established and hands on 8 years of professional experience in managing projects with key focus on energy project development, preferably in solar, onshore wind or other renewable energy.
• Demonstratable experience in successfully leading large teams in a professional project management environment.
• Strong network with local developers and EPC providers in Taiwan.
• Strong advocate of WHSE compliance and acts ethically with fairness, honesty and integrity.
• Good project management skills including ability to plan work, work to the plan, manage risks and issues and drive outcomes in the face of tight timeframes and external pressures.
• Ability to manage technical and regulatory discussions with appropriate engineering, regulatory and legal experts and government agencies as well as managing input requirements from internal support functions such as engineering, procurement, legal and finance.
• Proactive, self-motivated and ambitious personality.
• Ability to work autonomously / independently to identify new project opportunities and develop existing opportunities.
• Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and conversational English as well as ability to communicate with key stakeholders in Chinese.
• Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Taiwan as and when required.
