We care deeply about building a diverse and inclusive team, and we hope you do too!The PositionWe are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager based in Taiwan to drive key Framework products and lead a small but dynamic team of EEs. Our philosophy in Framework is that every manager is both a mentor for the team they support and an individual contributor taking ownership of significant development work on a product. Because of the modularity of our products, the electrical design work required is a unique challenge that is extremely important for fulfilling the company mission. You’ll need to guide the team through solutions for delivering upgradeability, repairability, compatibility, and great product performance simultaneously. As one of the early engineering managers in Framework, you’ll also have a high level of influence on our product roadmaps and architectural philosophy going forward.This is a full time position working remotely in Taiwan, and we also have an office in XinYi Dist that you can work from if you prefer.Responsibilities

• Manage the relationship with JDM electrical engineering teams to ensure we are leveraging their development experience and expertise to the fullest
• Guiding design, architecture, and NPI of the electrical systems of new products on our roadmap, along with sourcing, vetting, and bringing up new suppliers and partners
• Onboarding, mentoring, and managing electrical engineers across junior and senior roles, guiding them through not only tactical execution, but also career and personal growth
• Developing and deploying new processes and tools to improve engineering excellence
• Working closely with product and program managers to prioritize and execute on product development processes
• Taking direct, hands on ownership of specific product and engineering efforts that align to your technical expertise
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electrical or systems engineering for electronics products
• Previous experience managing an electrical engineering team building complex products
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• A background in driving the electrical development of novel products from initial concept to production
• A deeply collaborative team mentality and an ability to unlock the best in each team member
• Strong written and verbal English communication abilities and familiarity with working across time-zones

• A passion for environmentalism and/or DIY
• Experience as an engineer or manager in a hardware startup
• Expertise developing computing products
• A strong understanding of adjacent functional areas like mechanical engineering and firmware engineering
• Experience working as a member of an international team
