Role Profile

Reporting to a Director within the Data Operations Department, the Data Change Analyst will leverage and build their skills to work with the team, key stakeholders (including clients), data suppliers and programmers to develop high quality derived fundamental data content, and related data deliverables (reference data, mergers data, geographic/business segmentation, etc.). The right candidate will take ownership of understanding and coordinating requirements within stated timelines, and leverage colleagues to achieve delivery.

The position offers a clear development path and presents many exciting opportunities in a challenging and dynamic environment. The role provides an excellent opportunity for the candidate to consolidate and further develop their financial, analytical and data and database knowledge and project management skills, working with colleagues across functional teams to complete projects and deliver content on time and to the highest possible standard. The Data Change Analyst is responsible for performing full business acceptance testing, following project objectives and timelines. The role will also include the development of UAT testing framework and creation and improvement of UAT processes and the development and maintenance of the testing library.

Creation and Maintenance of High Quality Equity Analytics and Index Data Solutions
  • Create & Document methodologies behind data & analytics in conjunction with Research and external clients
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements. Identify and vet potential solutions
  • Specify requirements and collaborate closely with Technology on implementation of analytics
  • Test output of data ensuring accuracy, and suitability against requirements. Feed deficiency feedback to data suppliers for rectification.
  • Wrangle data from internal & external sources into standardized data models
  • Design, implement and monitor innovative quality control checks on all data, utilizing new-age technologies
  • Ensuring high quality, complete derived data content is created and provided for use in index builds and other products
  • Respond to client questions in an efficient and timely manner, providing root cause and action plans where necessary to prevent future reoccurrence of issues
  • Assisting in the production of regular reports and new product development in data and technology segments to support index & analytics
  • Equity Operations, Operational Support, UAT and Regulatory Operations, and manages close operational relationships, internally and externally.
Communication
  • Produce data visualizations and data quality reports to management and stakeholders
  • Clear documentation of technical requirements around analytics to ensure smooth implementation in partnership with technology
  • Deliver clear and accurate analysis to facilitate stakeholder discussions.
  • Build trust with stakeholders by consistently understanding and fulfilling stakeholder requests in an accurate, timely and professional manner.

  • One of the key points of contact between offshore team and onshore team, stakeholders, project team members
  • Identifying impact of Business Requirements on systems and processes
  • Performing/supporting User Acceptance Testing of the Business Requirements for all platforms and associated tools/systems defined in scope
  • Identification, logging, and analysis of software defects. Managing bug reports and ensuring resolution, working closely with Development, QA teams and project representatives
  • Providing regular status reports on testing results
  • Managing the creation of full documentation library of UAT Test Scenarios, Test Scripts for all operational activities
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, and fundamental and valuation analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with market data, including procedures of corporate action treatments, currency changes & common market identifiers
  • Familiarity with data modelling and process flows
  • Solid understanding of data management theories with 3-5 years practical experience, including managing and monitoring data from common third party vendors
  • Strong computer literacy, including advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite of products, 1 or 2 programming languages (R, Python), Database querying language (SQL) and a willingness and skill to learn new tools quickly
  • Client focused with a good understanding of typical workflows within Investment Managers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work within a team
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Test preparation and execution experience
  • Experience of Agile delivery is beneficial
  • Strong problem solving and good analytical skills (defect analysis and reporting)
  • Must be a confident team player with good interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and test different applications relating to a release
