Job Summary

Individuals in this role are expected to be comfortable working with voluminous data, structured and un-unstructured, and have a foundation in mathematical statistics. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest for transforming internal audit by using data science to identify and answer questions that help us measure business risk and the control environment.

The Data Analytics (Assistant) Manager will lead the following practices:

• Develop and carryout the process of obtaining, organizing, and delivering data requests and analytics for various Internal Audit projects, cybersecurity, and assessments of financial reporting risk in connection with SOX 404 compliance.

• Integrate analytic results and metrics with a Governance, Risk and Compliance platform such as Diligent HighBond system

• Evaluate and communicate results of analytics for various levels of management

• Develop training and instruct others in designing data analytics

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal auditors to identify and answer important questions, learn from data and tell the story related to business risk.

• Manage data from multiple sources, validate data for completeness and accuracy, analyze outliers:

- Extract: Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources

- Validate: Develop data management ability to prepare data for analysis

- Analyze and interpret the results of ongoing assessments by isolating process-based leading indicators and symptomatic lagging indicators.

• Design solutions with appropriate statistical techniques on structured and unstructured data

• Visualize and Communicate results and recommendations to auditors, compliance functions and management

• Innovate professional practices for using data analysis and continuous auditing to provide assurance.

Qualifications

• Certified as CISA, CIA or CFE (or equivalent)

• Four-year degree and M.S. in a relevant technical field, or 5+ years’ experience in a relevant role

• Financial or operational audit experience is preferred

• Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches

• Comfortable with manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume nonfinancial and transactional data from varying sources

• A strong passion for research, for answering strategic questions and telling the story regarding business risk with data

• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner

• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL and data visualization with PowerBI

• Expert knowledge of analysis tools such as R or ACL

• Experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools
