Career DescriptionJob DescriptionSUMMARYThe Visual Designer position will support the Senior Visual designer and Design Manager for specific private label packaging, graphic design, poster design, demonstrate packaging on POG and any of visual look across Advance Auto Parts. Responsibilities include executing packaging design and visual design projects to deliver departmental strategic objectives. Major tasks in this assignment include project facilitation and consistent interpretation of brand creative direction across multiple brands and promotional initiatives. Job related computer skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are basic, passion and stable personality are required. Communication, prioritization and organization are key skills needed to accomplish this multi-tasking position. This position is also crucial to the integrity of delivering the brand’s promise and customer experience through packaging, visual design and copy. Designers must be able to work in a fast-paced and fluid retail environment on multiple projects with changing deadlines and priorities. The ability to gather information from and communication with cross-functional partners to provide clarity to project objectives and requirements is essential.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Must be capable of create the mockup for the packages.
• Follow through on tasks and projects, ability to work independently with little or

no direction/follow-up to complete tasks

• Collaborates with departments and action teams to realize corporate objective
• Understanding requests and directions from US teams for different projects, provide ideas base

on design experiences and knowledges if necessary.

• The visual designer is capable of managing multiple concurrent deadlines and organize own projects.
• Having ability to provide and create ideas or suggestion of design directions.
• Experience with artworks, packaging design, photography, print management, in consumer

or retailer private label packaging.

• Once projects come, following by style guide to create leader sku for US team review.

Make sure all of boxes orientation are correct and suitable for POG display.

• Checking of die line construction and printer requirements as it relates to the development

of artwork as well as have knowledges to decide and give suggestions on incorrect die line.

• Having ability to create product line art, icons for package use.
• Communication skills, discussion skills, passion and stable personality are required.
• Be a highly responsible team player that practices and drives design excellence.
• Duplicate and create designs on all of different boxes once leader sku are approved.
• Communicates with internal contactors and make sure all of content, spec, photos,

line arts are correct on the package.

• Deadline-driven with a strong sense of priority and follow-through. Able to work well under tight

deadlines and in a busy, fast-paced, quick-turn environment.

• Contact with external contactor and provide all of information of package for Spanish and French

translation needed.

• Release artworks by different projects to vendors and printers and print out digital print of images

for print shop check color use.

• Skilled in packaging standards, regulations and understand all aspects of printing processes.
• Create internal poster, office decoration poster design base on different request.
• Demonstrate product packages for presentation use if requested.
• Responsible for project development record keeping, file name/part numbering,

utilizing project management system.Qualifications

• Proficiency in MAC OS-based Adobe CC Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign required, intermediate-level user of Excel and Word. Photography and illustration skills for packaging a necessity.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Must be capable of working in a team environment
• Accepts guidance and responds well to constructive criticism
• Art portfolios or online portfolio required
• Fully bilingual and comfortable in an English language environment
• Seeking a talented, creative designer to work on our packaging and branding team.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred, along with 2-5 years working experience with package design.
