About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

As an Engineering Program Manager, you’ll keep an innovative engineering team motivated and productive. You will work closely with design engineers, product managers, operations, and CMs/ODMs/OEMs to get high-quality products built, tested, and released on time. You’ll coordinate many fast-changing, moving parts and still get them to come together as a product. You possess excellent communication skills and can answer all questions about schedules, quality, and progress updates. You are responsible for identifying and managing risks, making sound judgments about quality, and stopping (or speeding up) production at the right time.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to get products defined, designed, built, and validated on time, while meeting schedule, cost, features, and quality requirements. Develop, maintain, and communicate key focus points with engineering, vendors, operations, quality, and management.
  • Plan from product definition, development, and ready for launch. Define, drive, and manage the hardware development plans and schedules with well-defined milestones.
  • Manage product execution working closely with Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, and partner teams to engineer the best experience for our users.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and external partners across time zones on product development schedules, dependencies, and budgets to ensure all design and product deliverables are met.
  • Evaluate mechanical design and production decisions as part of product development life-cycle. Identify program risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution.
