Human Resources Specialist (temporary) – Georgetown University Medical Center

Job Overview

The Human Resources Specialistin a temporary role - provides direct administrative support to the Human Resources operations in the Georgetown University Medical Center, consisting of 15 clinical departments, five Basic Science departments and five centers. Undertaking a variety of Human Resources administrative duties involving a wide range of support activities, the Human Resources Specialist has duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Reviews/audits/processes position descriptions
  • Prepares recruitment requests, schedules interviews, conducts phone screens, administers reference checks, and conducts exit interviews
  • Administers other processes and paperwork relating to the Medical Center’s Human Resources operations
Work Interactions

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist serves as a resource for all areas of the Medical Center; works with the Human Resources Officers of each sector and department at the Medical Center – sometimes with confidential and/or sensitive e-mails.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field – e.g., healthcare administration, business, or human resources
  • Three to five years of work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist – preference for experience in an academic administrative office [a combination of equivalent work experience and education will be considered)
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Familiarity with full cycle recruiting
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities and organizational capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, etc.
  • Experience and commitment to proper handling of sensitive information
