Minimum qualifications:
  • 3 years of development experience in embedded systems.
  • 3 years of experience in performance/memory enhancement on Android mobiles or algorithm development experience in any of autofocus, phase detection, auto white balance, auto exposure, and auto flicker detection/correction.
  • Experience in C++ programming.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or 6 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in camera imaging pipeline and image quality metrics.
  • Experience in image processing, computer vision, and computational photography development.
  • Experience in Android mobile camera software development such as camera driver, HAL, framework, and application.
  • Experience in Python, Halide, and/or Neon programming.

About The Job

As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop advanced camera imaging algorithms for Pixel phone users and other internal customers to change the mobile imaging industry.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop mobile camera algorithms related to 3A (e.g., auto focus, auto white balance, and auto exposure) that are computational efficient.
  • Enhance algorithms performance and memory on Android mobiles.
  • Collaborate with research team to turn research ideas into shippable camera features.
