We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and drive financial strategy at Arc & Codementor. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing financial reporting, analyzing data, ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements, annual tax returns, and reporting to regulatory bodies as needed in the US and Taiwan. Additionally, you will provide related strategic recommendations to support the company’s objectives.This is a full-time, fully remote role in Taiwan.What You’ll Be DoingFinancial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Provide timely and insightful financial analysis, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports for executive management and key stakeholders.
Government Reporting and Tax Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements, tax filings, and regulations in both the United States and Taiwan.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns, supporting documentation, and payments as required.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure accurate financial data and adherence to company policies.
Financial Operations:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and implement strategies to enhance liquidity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and systems.
We Hope You Have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of US and Taiwan GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Advanced or near-native Mandarin level
Bonus Points if You Have
  • Experience within, or interest in, the technology or recruitment industry, and crowdfunding.
  • Experience with one of the Big 4.
  • Experience with international taxation.
  • A professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA).
