Job Overview

The purpose of this position is to analyze the root cause of complaints, evaluate quality issue of product (component) returns, complete engineering investigations and write a professional complaint report. This job function works closely with contact persons from top pharmaceutical companies and resolves the quality and regulatory concerns raised by them to ensure product safety and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complaint failure modes according to complaint descriptions, return part evaluations and manufacturing records.
• Complete engineering investigation and root cause analysis on returned parts – will need basic knowledge of metals/plastics/welding/assembly.
• Assess risk of confirmed failure mode.
• Write a detailed, high quality report for the investigation.
• Organize and present accumulated complaint statistics to customers and management.
• Share technical knowledge with others in the team.
• Complete assigned tasks on time with minimal supervision (self-motivated).
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with foreign customers, team members, and various technical disciplines.
• Use collaborative communication style to negotiate win-win-outcomes.
• Tend to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming session.
• Understand detail design drawings, schematics, specifications and bills of material.
• This role does not have supervisory responsibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• BS degree above or equivalent technical work experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
• Engineering experience, or comparable experience (quality engineering, design engineering, complaint analyst, technical writer) is preferred.
• Experience in working in cross functional teams consisting of discipline specific engineers, or comparable experience is preferred.
