Royal Ocean Marine, a leading maritime consultancy company, is seeking a motivated and experienced Drybulk Shipbroker (to be based in Taiwan) to join our clients team. As a Drybulk Shipbroker, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the chartering of drybulk vessels, negotiating charter contracts, and ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of goods across the seas. This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the maritime industry.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, including ship owners, charterers, and cargo traders
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by actively engaging with potential clients and industry stakeholders
  • Negotiate charter contracts and terms in line with market conditions and client requirements
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to assess charter rates, vessel availability, and market opportunities
  • Prepare and present market reports and proposal presentations to clients
  • Manage the entire chartering process, including vessel selection, contract preparation, charter party negotiations, and post-fixture operations
  • Work closely with other teams, such as operations, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of charter contracts
  • Continuously develop industry knowledge and stay abreast of market changes and regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients throughout the chartering process

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in maritime, logistics, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Shipbroker in the drybulk sector, with a strong network of contacts
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of shipping markets, including charter rates, vessel types, and market dynamics
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in using industry-specific software and platforms
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin due to dealing with Taiwanese and China counterparts
  • Open to non Taiwanese that are keen to relocate to Taiwan and also those who are keen to do shipbrokering
