Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working with hardware development teams.
• Experience analyzing data to improve manufacturing processes.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
• Experience with system, functional, and board level testing.
• Experience supporting products with Contract Manufacturer (CM), Original Device Manufacturer (ODM), and/or Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM) partners.
• Capable of generating product-specific test plans and executing testing accordingly.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Willing to travel.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage with product design engineering teams to drive improvements on future Networking hardware solutions.
• Coordinate engineering initiatives across quality, manufacturing, mechanical, test, and partner engineering teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to improve product quality and reliability.
• Manage Engineering validation and sign off of all Networking product and software/firmware changes.
• Support for Networking boards and assemblies including go/no-go approval, plans for production ramp, test readiness, and change management.
