To this purpose, we are now seeking a passionate Optical Packaging Engineer who is committed to making a difference in the world through their contributions. You will be responsible for package development of optical packages for NVIDIA’s products.

We are looking for a highly motivated Optical Package Development Engineer in the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). Do you have a strong background in computational methods for advanced manufacturing? Are you proficient in one of the underlying fields, such as massively distributed computing, computational geometry, diffractive optics? If yes, then we’d love to hear from you! The job requires working on complex problems and products; you will be providing solutions that are highly creative, and directly contribute to product differentiation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responsible for defining optical package design rules, process flow and material sets.
• Lead optical package development to establish package manufacturability and reliability.
• Drive package qualification activities from initial concept to production.
• Work closely with offshore fab, assembly, substrate, and connector partners.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams with in NVIDIA and define optical package requirements.
  
  

What We Need To See

• Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years optical packaging experience.
• Knowledge in Flip Chip Packaging/ Optical Connector Assembly/ Optical Connector to chip attach.
• Basic photonic device knowledge.
• Strong problem solving skills.
  
  

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd

• Experience in using optical simulation software like Lumerical or Zemax.
• Solid understanding of AutoCad.
• Basic knowledge of Allegro Package Designer.
