Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years years of industry experience in product development for portable electronics (tablets, phones, notebooks).
• 2 years of people management experience.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ODM/CM models of product development.
• Broad, cross-functional understanding of hardware product execution such as ME/PD, ID, cost and factory/operations.
• Deep knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines.
• Successful completion of multiple consumer products, with direct experience shipping products in high volumes

About The Job

In this technical leadership role, you will shape the product definition and technology direction. You’ll manage and develop a team of engineers, empowering them to design and support electronics and electronic subsystems of Fitbit products throughout the entire product life cycle.

You may represent Fitbit in supplier meetings, program kickoffs, project definition, while being aligned to the long-term department strategy. You will oversee the development of a Fitbit products and strategic engineering initiatives. You’ll have the opportunity to make an impact on the products we develop while building an engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Assess technical feasibility of new product features and concepts.
• Oversee hardware product development for a product through the entire life cycle
• Ensure the success and development of individuals on the project team by defining clear expectations, providing timely and specific feedback, and holding others accountable.
• Identify mentorship opportunities and coordinate training and professional development for your team.
• Provide technical oversight on development of new wearable electronic products done by your team
