• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in test equipment setup for validation or debugging.
• Experience with electrical design that include active/passive components and its application circuit.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 3 years of relevant experience in embedded/consumer electronics system design.
• Experience in writing diagnostic test and automation software in Python, Labview, or similar environment for bring-up and testing.
• Experience in hardware validation cycles, debug, and measurement methods.
• Experience in board bring-up, debugging and manufacturing testing processes.
• Experience in one or more of the following roles: Architecture, SOCs/MCUs, Power Management/Battery system engineering, Signal Integrity, low/high speed communication interface (HDMI, PCIe, MIPI, SPI, I2C, DDR) and/or Analog/Camera system engineering.
• Ability to travel domestically or Internationally as needed.

Our computational challenges are so big, complex and unique we can’t just purchase off-the-shelf hardware, we’ve got to make it ourselves. Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

As a key member of the team, you manage projects in multiple areas with your expertise. You also monitor the performance of vendors working on projects and evaluate new technologies.

As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you will use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. You will participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You will work in a Manufacturing and Product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.

In this role, you will be comfortable working in a number of areas including system architecture, circuit board design, and module integration. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams in Operations, Product, and Engineering to define and deliver outstanding products.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Nest team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system bring up and tasks associated with product development.
• Facilitate system design reviews, issue tracking, technical discussion and analyze electrical systems and components failures.
• Design, modify, and execute the hardware system test plan. Work on automation tests for bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to accomplish hardware builds, ex factory build support, failure analysis, and test data review.
• Provide technical documentation of system design with minimal guidance.
