• Leverage technical acumen to provide superior Engineering and production support for MS SQL Database environments. In addition, will drive and participate in efforts to ensure platform stability to maximize performance of database environments. Partner with application owners/teams to understand application and business needs and SLO.

• The primary focus will be on production support for database environments working with 24x7 on-call support staff on a rotating schedule
• Database administration (Installation, configuration and management, patching and upgrade of the database environments)
• Perform Database backup and recovery
• Perform Database refresh
• Database/T-SQL Monitoring and Performance Tuning
• Using database expertise and leadership experience to identify and drive improvement efforts related to our database portfolio
• Participate in Change Advisory Board and provide guidance governance on Database changes. Performing problem resolution for complex issues including root cause analysis, and outlining resolution options
• Providing off-hours support, when required, for critical production issues.
• Automate Infrastructure components leveraging understanding of scripting, coding and automation using one or more of the following: PowerShell, Microsoft DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ruby, Terraform or others.
• Work with the third-party support team (on-shore and off-shore) and application support teams to educate and guide them for steady-state supporting database infrastructure related technologies

• BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

• 2-5 years working in IT as MS SQL Database Administrator

• Played pivotal roles as Database Administrator and support staff across various database technologies
• Knowledgeable in database technologies– High Availability Technologies like Always-ON, Log Shipping, Mirroring, SQL Replication, Foglight, PowerShell Scripting, third party backup tools like Druva, Cohesity etc.
• Good understanding of database migration lifecycle both providing solution and best practices.
• Support and workings of SSIS, SSAS and SSRS components for customers.
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux OS
• Database/SQL Monitoring and Performance Tuning
• Ability to use various DMVs, and other custom and scripting tools needed to troubleshot issues when they arise.
• Should have experience of working in Manufacturing Industry (or similar) to understand the data security requirements like ITAR/PCI/PHI/HIPPA/NIST/SOX etc.
• Understanding and knowledge of database hosting in AWS, Azure and GCP
• Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools
• Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
