Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in cellular wireless (i.e. LTE, 5GNR) and WIFI (i.e. 802.11ac, 802.11ax)
• Experience using wireless test equipment (e.g. LTE callbox) in a lab environment and log analysis, including test automation
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in LTE/5GNR, PHY/MAC and upper layer stacks
• Experience with cellular performance and verification for product launch
• Solid understanding of wireless communication standards (L1/L2/L3) and implementation (including but not limited to 5GNR, LTE, 802.11ax, 802.11ac)
• Ability to develop detailed test plans and lead evaluation/debug/root cause
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  
  

About The Job

The Pixel Cellular team is responsible for all aspects of cellular performance for Pixel devices, from concept to volume production to post deployment, and for delivering excellent performance for our users.

In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate with Engineers from all across Google to design and execute on design goals. As a Cellular Systems Product Lead, you will lead a team driving full lifecycle verification across the entire product portfolio, defining and executing test cases, and optimizing performance.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Cellular Engineers focused on modem and radio performance.
• Define test cases for verifying, debugging, and optimizing cellular performance.
• Work with cross-functional Verification, Hardware, Software, and Systems teams to evaluate, debug/root cause, and verify cellular products and system-level performance.
• Evaluate cellular performance on callbox and live base station environments.
