Day To Day Responsibilities:
- Provide automation equipment development and engineering specialties to projects across all Corning business
- Directs vendors in the construction of prototype and production equipment. Perform tests and evaluates data and makes preliminary recommendations regarding equipment performance.
- Communicates ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic and written media and oral presentations.
- Provides necessary documentation of activities, results and assignments.
- Serves as a technical coach for peers / customers as required
- With only general guidance and support, develops a concept process equipment design and detail mechanism.
- Major in engineering department with BS or above degree- Mechanical, Aeronautic related
- Good commanding on equipment design and integration
- Good understanding of robotics and proficient in robot programming and simulation (Fanuc series is preferred)
- PLC programming experience for automation equipment
- Detail oriented and able to perform with limited supervision
- Effective, high quality oral and written communication skillswith English
- Proactive, independent, flexible, quick learner
- Excellent computer skills (working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office)
- Customer oriented; meets customer needs with quality results
- Ability to build effective working relationships with others
- Ability to manage multiple priorities tasks
- Ability to contribute to the development of others
- Responsible for the accuracy of work performed; takes a proactive approach to ensure quality of work.
- >2+ years in mechanical/equipment design field and engineering analysis experience
- >2+ years in commercial robot programming and simulation would be a plus
- >2+ years with CAD/CAM capability especially for CNC application would be a plus
- Familiar with industrial safety standard
- Experience on automation equipment design and integration such as material handling, CNC for finishing, conveyor, facility Automation, CCD integration.
- Familiar with commercial standard parts include mechanical and sensing components application and selection.
- Familiar with IT tolerance, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Mechanical components.
- Familiar with manufacturing method- Milling, Turning, Grinding, Sheet metal, etc
- Familiar with solid modeling will be a plus (Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor, etc)
