PRIMARY PURPOSEThe Admissions Officer will work with colleagues across TES to ensure the smooth functioning of the Admissions Department, with particular emphasis on managing and conducting entrance assessments within the Admissions remit.APPLICATION PROCEDURE/TIMELINEIf you are excited by this opportunity, please complete our application form online and where you will also be asked to upload your CV and a Covering Letter in which you share your experience and enthusiasm for the role.   • Working Relationships and Contacts
  • Regularly communicates with parents by phone, email and face to face for reasons that include answering enquiries about TES, giving campus tours and providing a wide variety of information about school operations;
  • Provides the line manager with regular updates and reports on the status of applications and consults the line manager regarding more complex cases and problems arising;
  • Liaises with Section staff at all levels to arrange assessments / interviews, etc.;
  • Makes the internal and external arrangements for large group entrance assessments, and placement testing and orientation sessions in August;
  • Conducts student tryouts in the classroom, and assessments both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Coordinates and confirms editing of articles related to the school, with the article contributor or under direction of the Admissions department.
Major Specific DutiesAdmissions Support
  • Responds to written and telephone enquiries about possible admission to TES.
  • Welcomes potential families, conducts tours of the TES schools and facilities, introduces key faculty staff including heads of sections.
  • Assists in the completion of applications and briefs applicants on the details of the fee structure, commitments and refund policies.
  • Assists in the organisation of open house events and ensures parents are appropriately informed about admission to TES at these events.
  • Prepares and submits reports and statistics for / to the line manager and government ministries / departments.
  • Provides induction information for new families and provides school sections with all relevant information about new students.
Assessment Organisation
  • Arranges and administers assessment tests, and sets up interviews with heads and faculty staff.
  • Informs the line manager and applicants of assessment results, and deals with parents who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the tests.
  • Carries out research into alternative assessment materials and pilots tests with existing students when required,
  • Organise remote assessments for overseas students, communicating with the school or organisations which will be administering the assessment.
Others
  • Ensures that all database information related to Admissions is checked, entered and maintained accurately and systematically, without undue delay;
  • Writes and updates the admissions pages of the TES website and other school literature that is in English.
  • Assists in editing of English articles which are used for the Admissions of the school.
  • Assists other members of the Admissions team as and when required by the Admissions Office Manager .
Qualifications
  • University (Graduate) Degree
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in spoken Chinese (preferred)
