• 5 years of experience in managing programs or projects.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in working on mobile devices Hardware and Software, embedded software, or low level linux.
• Experience in developing processes where little exists, but demonstrated flexibility to get work done.
• Ability to communicate and influence with multiple levels including executives, managers, product managers, and engineers to develop strategic relationships and drive execution effectively.
• Ability to proactively organize thoughts, learn new technologies and take action.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will be directly involved with shaping and driving our multi-year roadmap for phones and large screens devices, working with cross functional groups, cross Product Areas and driving exciting new products to market.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex large scale embedded projects on the Pixel System Software Team delivering high product quality and user experiences, while scaling execution to multiple devices.
• Work closely with our leads, partners, product managers to plan and manage our multi-year roadmaps.
• Build and track development plans from new technologies to post launch. Partner with key stakeholders to define and track success KPIs and metrics.
• Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities. Drive results proactively. Communicate/present plans and updates to executive leadership.
• Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary. Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
