Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in embedded/consumer system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up, New Product Introduction (NPI), or product shipment.
• Experience with architecture and design of circuit boards, including chipset, memory, high-speed communication interfaces, or power.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering.
• Experience with high-speed design and standard RF/WiFi interfaces at chipset, baseband, and antenna integration levels.
• Experience delivering high-volume mobile products from beginning to end in the consumer electronics space, and leading system engineering teams focused on consumer electronics products.
• Knowledge of Chrome OS or Android embedded environments.
• Design expertise in high performance ARM and system on a chip or custom silicon design, battery powered devices, memories, power supply, display, camera, sensors, and analog design.
• Ability to work in a team on cross-disciplinary systems. Excellent communication, project management, planning, and organizational skills.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Pulling on your technical and leadership expertise, you lead end-to-end research projects in multiple areas of expertise across data center facilities and manage a team of direct reports working on equipment installation, troubleshooting and debugging.

As a Technical Lead/Manager, you will lead and drive electrical designs and roadmaps optimization holistically considering all aspects at system level. You will drive and analyze key system architectural and design trade-offs, and drive optimal electrical design to deliver to the product requirements.

In this role, you will analyze power and performance in a thermally constrained system, key parts considerations including silicon, printed circuit board (PCB), and interconnect floor plans. You will work with many cross-functional teams including Silicon, Packaging, Wireless, and Mechanical Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical Engineering team through all phases of product development. Work with cross-functional teams to develop hardware architecture and systems for next generation products.
• Leverage expertise in system architecture fundamentals. Connect product definition mapping to features and electrical implementation, with deep understanding of how data flows in a system, what matters, and how to build it.
• Use analytical skills to lead the team on key systems electrical architectural and implementation trade-offs on high performance, low power products with a great cost preposition.
• Design high-volume products including influencing and defining system specification. Communicate ideas clearly, work through ambiguities, and discuss solutions with teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Silicon/Platform, Wireless, Software, Product design/Mechanical Engineering, Industrial design, Technology/Solution teams, Operations, Product Management, User Experience, and external vendors/suppliers/partners).
