What are the requirements for this private school position?

• Bachelor’s degree
• You must be a native English speaker
• Speak at least intermediate Mandarin and desire to improve. (Teachers who do not meet this requirement will be automatically disqualified.)
• Hold a passport from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa and the United States
• Clear National Background Check from your home country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the US)
  
  

What will I earn as an ESL teacher? English Teachers receive the following benefits:

• Monday through Friday. No morning hours. Weekends off.
• Earn $850-$1200 per hour (tenure based) - Starting salary at NT68,000 at 20 hours per week and minimum hourly wage.
• A guarantee of 20 hours per week
• Students are between 6 and 15 years of age

Typical Job Duties Of An ESL Teacher In Taiwan

• 20+ in class teaching hours per week (This is the minimum number of hours you are guaranteed. Most teachers have 22 -26 hours per week.)
• Intensive teacher training is provided. You must be willing to undergo training and learn different teaching methodologies
• Your school will have materials for use during ESL lesson preparation.
• In addition to your time spent in the classroom you will administer tests, grade papers and participate in school meetings
• Be passionate about teaching and curious about learning
• Enjoy being a positive influence on children.
