Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with consumer product hardware testing, system debugging/troubleshooting, or system validation.
  • 2 years of experience to develop/scripting test automation plan and system noise analysis in python.
  • Experience with system coexistence related testing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience to programming language of Python, C/C++, and Java.
  • Experience to develop hardware debugging tools, scripts, and plan troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of consumer electronic SOC, Sensors, Display, Touch, Camera, and RF subsystem.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

You will work cross-functionally with Silicon, Module, Systems, Software, and Technology teams to discover System Coexistence issues, and aid in the root cause to deliver high quality hardware products. In this role, you will specify test requirements with internal stakeholders, defining test methodology, developing equipment, code test Software/Script, and facilitating communications across cross-functional teams. System Coexistence validation focuses on system level functionality and performance characterization across various subsystem interactions.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the system coexistence Engineering Requirements Specification (ERS) through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Own and drive the system coexistence testing plan and methodology that cover all aspects of the Pixel product subsystems.
  • Develop new test infrastructure and instruments to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to derive the innovative validation or test solution, problem triage activities, and aid in the root cause of system coexistence issues.
