The Team

Application Development Engineering (ADE) is a globally distribute team that develops tools and automations for Ruckus technical support and engineering. ADE tools and automations are found both in our products and the facilitation of our customers support experience. We offer both in office and work from home opportunities and are excited to expand our Taipei development team!

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on software engineer that has a can-do attitude. You will be proficient in some of the technologies below and willing to learn in the other areas. You will have experience in open source technology, modern software delivery, and testing techniques. The successful candidate will thrive in a technology driven environment and be passionate about automation. You will also need excellent communications and personal skills.

Development Experience

• 3+ years of experience in development role with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, C/C++, Golang, Java
• 1+ years of experience implementing or supporting public/private cloud IaaS or PaaS assets
• Experience or equivalent with Unix and Hypervisors
• Experience with data modeling, for example: JSON, YAML, Protocol Buffers, Avro, Swagger
• Knowledge and experience with MVC frameworks
• Experience utilizing GIT for version control and code management processes, e.g., feature branching, code reviews, and pull requests
• Experience with programming frameworks and tools, for example: Kafka, MQTT, Django, Celery, Docker, Bot frameworks
• Experience with SQL and document databases, for example: Elastic Search, Cassandra, Postgres, mySQL

• IP networking and distributed systems experience
• Secured applications and communications
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
  
  

Education

• Degree or higher education in Computing Science or equivalent
  
  

The Following Experience Will Be Considered Favorably

Systems Administration

• Experience with DevOps practices and modern release/testing techniques (CI/CD and automated testing) and tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins)
  
  

Software Development

• Cloud development, testing, deployment: AWS, GCP, Azure
  
  

IP Networking

• Vendor experience configuring, managing and troubleshooting with Ruckus, Cisco, Juniper, Brocade or other networking devices
• Network industry certifications from Ruckus, Cisco, Juniper, Brocade or similar vendor
