The KLA Global Workplace Services (GWS) team is passionate about enabling the business goals and company culture through the delivery of workplace environments and services that foster teamwork, innovation, and productivity. Our team runs a worldwide portfolio of over 3 million square feet, 135 sites and over 14,000 employees. In addition to ensuring the workspace and manufacturing facilities operate seamlessly, this group also provides employee and site services, such as cafeteria, transportation, security, and EHS. The team is responsible for all construction and site improvement work to enable the business needs as well as align with the financial requirements.

As part of GWS, KLA’s global environmental, health, and safety (EHS) organization is driven to be a partner to leadership in support of the company’s efforts to achieve its strategic growth, customer and operating objectives and lead KLA to world class EHS performance. Our mission is to lead and enable the business and leverage EHS talents to achieve short and long-term business objectives. Our primary areas of strategic focus include of reducing risks to our employees, eliminating serious injuries, reducing wastes, integration of EHS management.

As the Taiwan EHS Manager/Lead, you will develop a business partnership to help support the business group’s EHS goals and the path to achieve it, while ensuring corporate EHS goals and legal requirements are being met. You will be responsible for supporting the corporate and country EHS functions and ensuring alignment to EHS goals and objectives. The person in this role will:

  • Provide support to country / facility leadership on their journey to world class EHS performance. Establish excellent relationships with a diverse management team spanning many different cultures.
  • Provide regular status updates on EHS performance to senior leadership within your country.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of regional/country/state regulations and corporate policies.
  • Provide support for mergers and acquisitions within your country.
  • Partner with facility leadership in incident investigations, corrective action deployment, and effectiveness evaluations.
  • Monitor and measure EHS performance metrics in your country.
  • Lead site/country teams and ownership of the KLA Business Continuity Program Emergency Response activities.
  • Establish programs and policies in support of corporate EHS goals and objectives.
  • Perform frequent site visits and audits to support the local and customer EHS needs.
  • Facilitate support of and remove barriers to EHS excellence identified via audit or leadership feedback.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance within your country/region and stay abreast of changes in regulations (governmental, industry groups, international standard bodies).
  • Develop and implement the country/regional and top-level requirements for our ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs. Ensure leadership is knowledgeable with their roles and responsibilities to support an integrated EHS management system.
  • Conduct periodic audits at KLA and customer locations related to the EHS management systems, compliance, and company policy/procedure conformance.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics, self-assessments, and trends. Respond accordingly.
  • Support successful deployment of programs related to KLA EHS goals.
  • Provide support to our ESG (sustainability) efforts for the countries/regions you support.
  • Keep current on regulatory trends and provide updates to corporate EHS as needed.
  • Understand and influence KLA EHS strategy and continual improvement efforts.
  • Partner with the GWS (facilities) team to ensure projects maintain KLA EHS standards
  • Represent KLA with external inspectors during onsite regulatory inspections (RBA audit by customers request)
  • Responsible for overseeing formal Process Safety Management standards across the customer network
  • Manages, selects, develops, and evaluates EHS talent to ensure departmental success.
  • Ensure department operations comply with customer and corporate EHS standards.
  • Regularly engaging with regional business operation leader to support and share EHS and facility projects.
