• 3 years of experience in software development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with tools and infrastructures development to optimize software engineering process.
• Knowledge of quality concepts (e.g., functional testing, unit testing, integration testing, performance testing).
• Ability to define software architecture, components, modules, interfaces, and data for a system to satisfy specified requirements, including validating for correctness, functionality, reliability, and other characteristics.
• Ability to lead, motivate and energize a team.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

Our team drives velocity, quality and excellence for the software stack that powers the helpful home. We do this by building tooling, scalable test infrastructure and driving quality insights into the development process. Our team pushes the limits of developer tooling and test automation to drive end-to-end quality across devices, services, and apps.

In this role, you will develop well-architected, innovative, and elegant software tools and services. You will build infrastructure on a variety of frameworks to enable high quality experiences for the developers and the end-users.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Software Engineers to build and deploy infrastructure that improves the developers experience.
• Collaborate with multiple teams across organizations to solve technical problems that enable feature teams to ship quality code at high velocity.
• Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
