Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of software development experience in C/C++.
• Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Experience in development, debugging, and testing work in the Linux kernel and subsystems in the kernel.
• Expertise in the software development lifecycle process, including analysis and design, APIs, and development tools.
• Comfortable working on system-level problems and solving problems that cross hardware/software boundaries.

On Android TV, our mission is to build a ubiquitous TV operating system that brings the best of Google to the living room.

In this role, you will build a team to work closely with various original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and system on a chip (SoC) partners in APAC to dramatically raise the quality of devices powered by our operating system while scaling to many users.

Responsibilities

• Innovate, design, implement, and test software features for TV embedded systems (e.g., streaming sticks, panel TVs and set top boxes).
• Build high quality Android TV OS reference designs that provides the foundational hardware and software for TV OEMs to launch devices with quality at scale.
• Bring up prototype hardware systems. Work with TV devices to bring a high performance Google TV experience to users.
• Be an expert or acquire expertise in technologies our SoC vendors contribute to the TV OS platform particularly in the areas of kernel, bootloader, TEE, HAL implementations, and Android framework.
• Advise and influence TV partners and vendors on solutions that benefit the TV ecosystem.
