Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in software development using Java or Kotlin.
  • Experience in building user-facing products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Android mobile application development, including Android SDK performance profiling tools and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Reactive Programming.
  • Experience with Jetpack libraries including Compose, LiveData, ViewModel, and Lifecycle.
  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Basic knowledge in machine learning, and photo and video editing.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.

The Pixel Camera AI Experiences Team exists to focus intently on both designing an ecosystem of products that can deliver personalized AI that’s totally unique in the mobile world, and relentlessly pushing the boundaries of AI innovation to turn everyday pain into seamless magical experiences.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Android services and applications for Pixel phones.
  • Work closely with partner teams such as Research, Product Management, Hardware Development and Optimization, Testing, etc. in the whole application development cycle.
  • Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Test unreleased devices and applications, provide feedback, and file bug reports on issues. Diagnose issues related to your application components.
  • Demonstrate and encourage the adoption of best practices, technology, tools, and libraries. Maintain a high quality, performance, and reliability bar for the application services and components our team develops.
