• 10 years of industry experience in new product introduction/supply chain, management/manufacturing, operations/development, or operations engineering.
• Experience across all phases of a product development from prototype to mass production.
• Experience managing and growing teams.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with global and cross-functional internal and external teams and in the consumer technology market.
• Experience launching consumer hardware products that are custom manufactured, joint development, original device manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, and third-party suppliers.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative reasoning, problem solving, creativity, and strategic skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  
  

About The Job

As the Site Lead you will be the regional leader for Nest Product Operations, collaborating with our Engineering Development team in Taiwan, and interfacing with executive management at our partners across the region. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Google’s standards. You’ll plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project life cycle including managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’ll explain your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with Engineers. You will work with teams to solve problems that gate production line operations.

Responsibilities

• Craft a strategy to enable rapid product development by leveraging joint development partners in support of the growth of the Nest portfolio.
• Manage joint development partners to meet program requirements in terms of cost, quality, resources, schedule, capacity, and technology.
• Lead cross-functional teams within Google and with external partners to prepare for production ramp and product transitions at custom manufacturing sites.
• Advocate for our custom manufacturer regional sites by optimizing manufacturing processes and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations.
• Mentor and grow the team motivating and inspiring Googlers to bring our mission to life.
