Minimum qualifications:

  • 5 years of operations, supply chain, reverse logistics, manufacturing, or relevant experience.
  • Experience in project management.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working in consumer electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience working on line setup, creating SOPs, test plan, station setup, and similar activities.
  • Knowledge of device diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, customers, and external vendors, in a fast-paced environment and support ever-changing priorities and deadlines.

About The Job

As a Service Engineer on the Reverse Logistics team, you will help drive forward hardware care operation. In this role, you’ll drive process improvement and support all operational and customer-facing activities required for launching and sustaining hardware products at several of Google’s service centers. You’ll help develop, implement, and sustain reverse operations, and will be the main point of contact with contract manufacturers, cross-functional engineering and operations teams, and service sites.

In this role, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You’ll plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres, and it’s your job to keep teams aligned on the project’s progress and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support pre-launch activities, drive design for service (DFS) for products, with engineering teams. Lead cross-functional discussions around service and serviceability.
  • Serve as a channel between operation, test engineering, process engineering, and reliability teams to help understand and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), fixtures, testers, and other needed equipment at authorized service provider (ASP).
  • Work closely with ASP to define the triage, flow, test, and qualification requirements.
  • Help define special tool needs and scope of the tool to help improve the operations reliability and reproducibility at service centers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more of the following Service areas: operations, manufacturing and assembly, test, quality, or software.
