Senior Staff DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps and software development engineer to join the Software Development Infrastructure team which is globally distributed and responsible for the software development best practices, toolchains and technologies used by Renesas software developers. Today, we have hundreds of software developers operating across many different platforms, code repositories and build pipelines. The quality of this work directly impacts the speed and efficiency of our software developers across the company

Responsibilities

• Define recommended software development practices and processes across a variety of development environments and programming technologies
• Setup and maintain infrastructure for CI/CD, including an automated testing framework and a builds and storage pipeline.
• Setup and maintain a version control system that enables collaboration and efficient code reviews
• Enabling work environments like usage of containers (eg Docker) for empowering application development
• Configure and customize third party tools like JIRA/Confluence (and plugins), Elastic Search, Gitlab etc to support developers and the development process
• Define and develop data analysis platform to monitor development processes and provide reporting to developers and management
  

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in enterprise DevOps, configuration management, software development and agile processes.
• Experience in large scale continuous integration / delivery processes, tools / workflow automation
• Experience in developing, managing and deploying containerized environments to large scale clients worldwide
• Design and rollout experience with Kubernetes, Vagrant, Docker, Ansible, GIT, SVN, Gerrit, Gitlab, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, Zabbix, Zephyr, Artifactory, Nagios, Openstack
• Experience with IT infrastructure, cloud computing and storage, DNS, FTP, VMs, servers and databases; experience with on-premise servers or public cloud (AWS) management
• Programming experience in Windows, Linux, make files, compilers, assemblers, linkers, C, C++, Python, Java, Groovy, BASH
• Ability to learn independently and problem solve
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional/geographical borders
• Minimum of a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems of equivalent
