Summary

  • Responsible for the proof of concept (PoC) with the open source technologies of OpenBMC FW and Open System Firmware in server, edge computing, IoT and 5G products.
  • Work with the Open Source Solution Architect to get into architecture planning and hands-on development for the PoC
  • This position requires in-depth working knowledge of open source architecture, including hardware of server and/or embedded system, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, BMC, security specification with analytical thinking, attention to detail and creativity.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Drive the definition, planning and feature prioritization for open source architecture & products
  • Drive features around open source project
  • Proof of concept (PoC) of open source project
  • Monitor progress and feature delivered from open source community
  • Establish SOP, activities, milestones and deliverable when get into production.
  • Work across different HW, FW, SW and quality departments/groups to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Support and grow relations with Enterprise customers using technical presentations
  • Work with Sales and marketing to develop and maintain a customer / partner product promotion program.
  • Evangelize and work with 3rd party developers / partner / customers in developing out Software, acting as the primary point of contact
  • Perform other tasks as needed within the open source business.

Qualifications

  • BC or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in shipping quality motherboard or computer system products on time and on budget is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a computer firmware and software development or management, or other similar technical position..
  • At least 5 years of open source project experience in Linux system and/or Embedded Linux. Experience in EDK2 or Coreboot/Linuxboot is preferred.
  • Experience in managing support questions around open source.
  • Strong technical comprehension of software around hardware security, industry standard management specifications
  • Experience in Proof of Concept (PoC)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to closely work terms of peers across various functional teams
  • Evangelize and work with 3rd party developers / partner / customers in developing out software, acting as the primary point of contact
  • It’s a nice attribute if having capabilities to contribute and work with Industry Standards body such as OCP and Linux Foundation and influence decisions behalf of Supermicro.
