Join CGD and be part of the adventure!The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join our small but growing applications engineering team, based in our Taiwan office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career by working as part of a dynamic, innovative, fast-growing business.This is an amazing opportunity to join CGD at an early stage and work within the applications engineering team in Taiwan as they grow in both size and capability. The applications engineering team will be the crucial link between engineering, customers and sales. You will be part of a team responsible for providing technical support of leading edge GaN products into various sectors including power supplies, mobile chargers and adapters, and many other consumer, industrial and automotive applications.Main ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Applications Engineer will be responsible for offering prompt technical support to customers around design activities. The Senior Applications Engineer will work closely with the sales and FAE teams to collect market technique trends, and propose new product specifications.Technical Activities in Region.
  • Work with FAEs to optimise system performance with CGD’s solution on customer’s boards
  • Provide immediate technical support when CGDs clients encounter difficulties while testing CGD reference designs
  • Provide customised daughter board, layout modification, and function test based on customer’s requests
  • Manage Application Interface Board design and inventory management
Promotion Material
  • Generate documents which are related to application questions according to customer request. i.e. Layout recommendations, User manuals in different packages, etc.
  • Work with FAEs to propose new reference board specifications to BU
New Product Verification
  • Support early verification like “A” sample in customer sides or on customer’s boards if required
RequirementsSkills and ExperienceEssential
  • Education: University & Major for Electronic Engineering
  • Solid commercial working experience as an SMPS Engineer, or an AE/FAE of semiconductors focussed on SMPS applications
  • Familiar with CrM/CCM PFC, LLC, QR Flyback. Totem pole PFC, ACF and AHB flyback would be a plus
  • Basic understanding of MOSFETs, SiC MOSFET, and GaN HEMTs
  • Fluent in English (Speaking, reading and writing)
  • Strong communication skills, and a positive attitude towards teamwork
  • Pro-active attitude, with a strong desire for success
  • Familiar with Altium, Power Point, Excel, and Word
  • Ability and willingness to travel
Desirable
  • Experience with high power applications like CRPS, Automotive, PV inverter, etc
