We are looking to hire Technical/QC Manager - Taiwan

As a leader in Construction Systems business, you will play a key role in creating value for the company through people. You will lead the quality control department and support operations for our powder production in Taiwan. Organize activities to ensure alignment with business priorities. Communicate results and status of activities to Management. Manage development group budget and liaise with global MBS QC and technical community, field technical service, Procurement, field sales, and marketing personnel.

  • Lead the Quality Control team with day-to-day guidance and mentoring on team activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring manufactured products and raw materials meet the defined standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Manage performance management processes to include goal setting, mid-year reviews, on-going feedback, and annual performance evaluations adhering to corporate processes and deadlines.
  • Assign projects based on business priorities to QC team members including both internal and external technical requests.
  • Manage technical issues from QC, manufacturing, field, procurement in a timely manner and report the outcomes with stakeholders.
  • Attend and actively participate in industry meetings, code committees, and events.
  • Attend regional meetings and work with global Innovation teams to implement technologies for the region
  • Assure standards of safety, environmental, team and individual performance are met in a high-performance team-based organization
  • Identify gaps and bring talents and capabilities to the group to support growth strategy for the business.

Operational Tasks:

  • Enforce group standards for health and safety among his/her team.
  • Implement quality procedures, standards, and specifications for the own manufactured products based on Technical Development guidance.
  • Implement quality procedures to ensure raw materials from external suppliers meet quality requirements.
  • Implement test methods if necessary and ensure the test equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Carry out QC tests and development work as required
  • Establish and manage a strong and cohesive technical infrastructure with superior level of technical expertise/support in the areas of product development/modification and quality management
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are in compliance with local, international and company standards of production.
  • Approve compliant products and reject defective ones.
  • Maintain proper records of quality test, procedures and standards.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze relevant quality statistical data to obtain information regarding quality performance and assurance.
  • Implement methods and systems for quality assurance according to group and international standards (ISO, DNV GL…).
  • Monitor product manufacturing processes to identify deviations from quality policies.
  • Provide support in non-conformance management/investigation.
  • Provide support to manufacturing when deviations are identified.
  • Review existing process and product specification to identify the need for improvement or upgrade.
  • Understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for international standards (ISO, DNV GL…), procedures and process.
  • Supervise the team to ensure they perform their duties in line with established quality procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, advanced degree preferred. Additional education such as OSHAS, NiBOSH is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a chemical related industry
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality control lab in a related industry at a manager level
  • Working experience with ISO and DNV GL standards
  • Working knowledge of the construction chemicals industry an advantage
  • Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office (advanced level)
  • Good EHS knowledge including Responsible Care required.
  • General knowledge on process technologies required. Specific process knowledge of the site is an advantage but not required.
  • General knowledge in Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective project management in prior roles
  • Progressive work experience in complex, matrix environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and organizational management skills
  • Skilled at interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
  • Ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization and management team that provides leadership and direction
  • Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Languages: English (Fluent), Hokkien (Taiwanese), Mandarin (Optional)
