Responsibility
  • Develop strategies for both in-licensing and out-licensing initiatives, aligning them with the corporate strategy to bolster the company’s pipeline, improve its financial position, and achieve sustainable long-term growth.
  • Identify potential target companies for licensing agreements, employing industry or scientific reports, database mining, conference presentations, and one-on-one meetings during various conferences.
  • Conduct financial modeling and commercial forecasts to perform thorough financial analyses of target assets and ascertain the valuation of in-house assets.
  • Lead or support cross-functional and cross-divisional teams, including research, development, and regulatory affairs, to facilitate scientific evaluations of potential licensing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the aforementioned functional teams to conduct initial pre-due diligence assessments and define the business parameters for prospective in-licensing deals.
  • Garner support and consensus for deal rationale from stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports and deliver regular updates on due diligence results to senior leadership.
  • Proactively monitor the external business environment and maintain an extensive knowledge base of licensing transactions and other relevant company activities.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of the competitive landscape, including market and research and development trends, enabling the executive team to stay abreast of emerging industry developments and provide strategic guidance.
  • Strengthen industry networking efforts to identify appealing partnering opportunities.
  • Utilize industry intelligence and comprehensive analysis of competitive landscapes to guide internal research and development activities and prioritize company efforts effectively.
Requirement
  • Ph.D. in biological sciences, biochemistry, immunology, or related biomedical fields is required. An MBA degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the industry, with at least 6 years focused on Product Licensing and Business Development. A strong background in research and development is desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in out-licensing and a proven track record in establishing and closing various partnership deals are highly preferred.
  • Proficient in English (knowledge of Chinese/Mandarin is advantageous but not obligatory) and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior drug development experience in immunology and oncology is preferred.
  • Outgoing personality and a positive attitude are desirable traits.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional, and science-driven environment.
  • Skilled in project management and adept at meeting deadlines, driven by high levels of self-motivation.
  • The role entails both domestic and international travel.
