Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in Taiwan imports/exports or related APAC import and export regimes, Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification, customs valuation, and encryption regimes.
  • 2 years of experience in in-house compliance, accounting/indirect tax, international trade consulting, trade law, or related discipline.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functions with suppliers and partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work with systems tools, such as SAP, homegrown systems, etc.
  • Excellent investigative skills, with the ability to manage and manipulate large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to speak and write in Mandarin fluently.

About The Job

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing import and export operations for Taiwan, including operationalizing local trade policy, regulations, and processes ensuring our products are delivered in a compliant manner to key stakeholders such as Googlers, third-party vendors or suppliers, and retail customers, including e-commerce (gstore).

In this role, you will also play a key role in evolving process excellence by identifying compliance risks, managing local regulatory enforcement (e.g., National Communications Commission (NCC) import permit), developing collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, and managing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage NCC import temporary program for all Devices and Services Product Area (DSPA), including regulatory enforcement, tracking and recall, and e-waste/disposition to comply with Taiwan NCC regulations.
  • Identify product and/or shipments requiring local permits includes OGA determination. Resolve daily import and export transactions to ensure shipments are in compliance and on-time clearance.
  • Identify compliance risks and provide guidance on import/export requirements for upcoming New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining programs. Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures to support trade compliance and cross-border activity.
  • Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., contract manufacturer, vendor, third-party suppliers, Customs broker, transportation) to identify opportunities and mitigate custom compliance risks.
  • Oversee internal audits and conduct internal reviews of our trade practices. Assist with a number of trade compliance programs.
