Minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with manufacturing test development, system validation and buy-ins, and failure and data analysis, and launching consumer electronics products.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Test and Program Management.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with international contract manufacturer (CM)/joint development manufacturer (JDM) partners to mass produce consumer electronics products.
  • Experienced in hardware test debug, troubleshooting, capital expenditure optimization, and failure analysis investigation.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights, strategies and plans, and travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese. Ability to inspire team with simplicity and clarity and share critical updates effectively.

About The Job

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a Test Technical Program Manager, you will be managing the operations side of projects from initial build through to ramp. You will be the cornerstone of operations communication with cross-functional teams in the development of products. You will lead a team of experienced professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Google’s standards. You will work with teams to solve problems that gate production line operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage factory test stations from concept to sustaining. Be main contact to internal and external teams (i.e., CM/Fixture vendors), manage overall test readiness, risks, and communication to cross-functional teams.
  • Develop test strategy and optimize the test processes across the entire production line (e.g., Final Assembly, Test, Packout).
  • Drive yield, retest, and test issues for test lines.
  • Work with CM/JDM on test related procedures, test fixtures readiness, cycle time, and line balance. Manage schedules and plan for all test engineering deliverables (e.g., data collection features/solutions, test framework software drops, fixture bring-up, fixture qualification, ongoing audits, etc.).
  • Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams in developing and improving test coverage including assessment of process flow, equipment/fixture designs, process controls, implementation schedules, and validation plans prior to any Engineering build.
