Minimum qualifications:
  • 7 years of experience in carrier certification, expert in RF, protocol, and field testing
  • Experience in managing projects through the entire project lifecycle
  • Ability to speak and write in English, Japanese, and Mandarin fluently

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues that may occur in certification
  • System level expertise in certification, for RF performance, to protocol and IP/IMS layers
  • Knowledgeable in 3GPP standards, testing and certification protocols and RF requirements for wireless products
  • Knowledge in carrier certification processes for Japanese carriers
  • Ability to do log analysis for commonly used chipset for 5G, 4G LTE
  • Ability to enable technical discussions with customer subject matter expert in all these areas

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will focus on lab testing which includes GCF/PTCRB, carrier specific testing and industry certification such as BT and NFC. You will rely on their technical knowledge in wireless communication to effectively manage the carrier wireless projects for carriers around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the carrier certification projects for smartphones and other cellular capable wireless devices.
  • Supporting multiple simultaneous projects, and collaborating the cross functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve the reported issues.
  • Collaborate with internal and third-party labs to ensure top quality and on-time delivery of the certification deliverables for Docomo.
  • Collaborate with team members on other carrier conformance certification activities in Japan.
  • Plan and schedule major and minor project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing testing tasks, getting cross-functional support and escalating as required.
