DESCRIPTION

Amazon Sidewalk is a new long-term effort to greatly extend the working range of low-bandwidth, low-power, smart lights, sensors, and other low-cost devices customers install at the edge of their home network. We believe customers shouldn’t have to settle for connected devices that lose functionality past the front door. With Amazon Sidewalk, customers will be able to place smart devices anywhere on their property and know the devices will work, even in dead spots where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don’t reach, helping bridge the connectivity gaps around our homes!

Amazon Sidewalk is looking for a System Technical Program Manager to help our multi-site device software and hardware development teams deliver highly cross-functional features to build the platforms that power our products. You will work closely with our global teams to plan and coordinate the execution of complex business needs, while simultaneously keeping your team focused on meeting their own commitments. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive of and help design components and building blocks for new products as well as maintain existing platforms. Program Managers at Amazon Sidewalk must be capable of sorting through many competing priorities, defining processes that improve execution, championing Engineering best practices, executing with agility, and succeeding in a complex and fast paced environment. What you’ll do

• Collaborate with Business, Engineering, and other internal teams to develop new products and solve business needs
• Work with remote and multi-site teams to investigate and deliver system integration with third party software and hardware
• Be expected to be familiar with system development cycle and key performance metrics
• Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, and change control
• Be expected to dive deep into the technical details of the program
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering)
• 5+ years Technical program management in a mixed software/hardware engineering environment
• 1+ years of experience with software development using RTOS
• 1+ years of experience in computer networking related development
• 2+ years of experience with third party system integration
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or advanced technical degree
• Knowledge of computer architecture concepts (memory, microprocessors, microcontrollers, sensors, ARM-based platforms, DSP)
• 2+ years of experience with hardware development life cycles and ECAD tools (OrCAD, Allegro preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem solving and negotiation skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams
• PMP and CSM certifications preferred
• Prior experience as a software or hardware developer
