The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include application development and management, enterprise architecture, and technology risk and compliance.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of IT, AIG HK, you will be responsible for AIG Taiwan IT strategy and has overall ownership for IT delivery, support and operational services to meet AIG Taiwan business needs.

What you need to know:

IT Strategy & Planning

• Develop & maintain IT strategy, ensure business alignment
  

• Build strong relationships with business and service stakeholders; represents Technology in business discussions and ensures technology capabilities required by business are available & fit-for-purpose
  

• Work with business to drives technology investment planning and come up with ideas to maximize returns on technology investment for the organization
• Own budget setting, forecasting and IT P&L actuals for AIG Taiwan
• In collaboration with APAC IT leadership, AIG Taiwan leadership team, define target technology architecture and set technology direction for AIG Taiwan.
• Ensure successful implementation of AIG200 – App Rat program deliverable (IIB) for Taiwan
  
  

IT support & Service Delivery

• Own technology service & support offered to AIG Taiwan business
• Work with AIG Taiwan leadership team and respective AIG HK/APAC/global IT teams to ensure the delivery of technology services & systems that meet the business objectives and AIG IT strategy
• Ensure adequate & competent IT resources (internal and external) to support the business demand
• Accountable for the adoption of AIG global governance processes and adherence to AIG enterprise standards & policies
  
  

IT Team & Talent Management

• Work with respective HK/APAC/Global IT functional leaders to define AIG Taiwan IT organization’s structure, roles, and responsibilities
• Provide on-the-ground leadership to local IT teams and manage local service partners/vendors
• Create culture of performance and value in local technology teams
• Mentor, coach and develop local IT talents; Drive D&I agenda for local IT function
• Collaborate and build strong working relationships with APAC Technology and Global Technology peers to ensure consistency of information, methodologies and reports; share best practices and systems knowledge
  
  

IT Risks & Compliance Management

• Accountable for IT risks management and compliance to Taiwan regulatory requirements, AIG enterprise policies & standards
• Work with APAC/Global TRC (Technology Risk and Control) functions to coordinate, analyze and report various operational metrics, progress, and compliance under governance from business and IT functional leadership
• Accountable IT executive to AIG Taiwan board for all IT matters
• Accountable IT exec to the local regulators across all IT matters pertaining to AIG Taiwan
• Accountable IT exec for TRC (Technology Risk & Control), IA (Internal Audit) and External Audit actions plans related to IT for AIG Taiwan
  
  

What we’re looking for:

Prerequisite Experience, Skills and Expertise

• Minimum 8 - 12 years of experiences in IT leadership position and min. 5 years working in Insurance Industry
• Proven track record in leading large-scale IT transformation in financial service industry, preferably Insurance companies
• Strong technical leadership in application development & maintenance, production support services infrastructure management
• Exceptional organizational skills to lead teams to navigate through ambiguity and change
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills and ability to engage a broad range of senior level stakeholders
• Proven experience in managing geographically distributed teams in the areas of IT delivery, support and operations.
• Proven experience in leading and operating within matrix organizational structure
• Ability to attract, development and retain talents
  
  

Additional Recommended Skills and Qualifications:

• Industry-recognized IT Service Management certifications (e.g. ITIL, etc.)
• Industry-recognized Program / Project Delivery certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE 2, etc.)
• Exposure to Enterprise or Solution architecture roles / planning activities within General Insurance
• Experience with AGILE and DevOps continuous delivery and support methodologies.
• Experience with Digital platform development and application of related technologies to the entire Insurance value chain.
