Staff Electrical Engineer (C/C++)

• Leads and executes by herself/himself the debugging of hardware & system issues
• Communicates with the Product Assurance / Product Engineering teams, and tracks defects
• Communicates with worldwide ThinkPad development team and external development partners (In USA, Japan, etc.) to support their development activities
• Leads and executes the unit testing of hardware & system validation
• Communicates with software team to optimize hardware & total solution design
• Communicates with procurement engineering team to optimize the implementation of subsystems
• Leads and executes the feature implementation with software development team and external technology suppliers based on the specification made by herself/himself
• Understands the market/customer requirements for the product properly and interprets them in engineering specifications
• Understands next generation of platform, key component design and study new features, make a reference design and implement those on products
• Leads and executes by herself/himself the detailed design of hardware (schematics, layout, signal routing, etc.) based on technical specifications
• Leads and executes by herself/himself problem resolution of hardware issues
• On-site engineering support at manufacturing factory in China during development and ramp-up phase
• Report the development status to the project manager and the people manager with timely manner
• Must currently reside in Japan.
