The Role
- Entegris is seeking an Sr. Automation & Control System Engineer (MES site project lead) for the Kaohsiung, Taiwan location. This position will report to the Manager, Factory Automation in KSP.
- This role will be responsible for the KSP site Manufacturing Execution System (MES) project management and maintaining the MES after the system go-live.
- This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of the site MES.
- This role also works with the MES solution supplier and the manufacturing SMEs from KSP Operation team for the implementation of MES and manage the changes of MES.
- The ideal candidate will exhibit the ability to manage projects with cross functional team in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment focused on safety, quality, and system reliability in Entegris KSP manufacturing plants and processes
- Modeling and Preparation
- Learning MES terminology and nuances to understand how the factory can be modeled in MES
- Compile opportunity backlog: ’wish list’ / problems / opportunities, ensure that factory processes are properly represented in documentation that feeds development.
- Establish and evaluate preliminary estimates for value capture with MES, as well as other targets for performance improvement.
- Project Management
- Facilitate project kickoff meeting to share introductory information with vendor, other Entegris team members.
- Ensure Business Needs, Requirements Accounted for in Vendor Backlog, along with appropriate prioritization in sprint schedule. These requirements must be sufficient to create a solution that drives its own adoption. Work with stakeholders to ensure that all business needs are captured.
- Communicate and manage project delivery expectations with on-site team.
- Identify and maintain product release timeline.
- Evaluate backlog progress to ensure that development is meeting expected pace, and that changes are reflected in requirements and backlog.
- Work with Project Management Organization and Global Manufacturing Systems team to follow and share best practices for MES Program improvement across Entegris.
- Attend all sprint meetings.
- MES Data
- Compiling Data from Plant Resources to Meet Sprint Refinement Requests.
- Verification that MES is populated with necessary data to enable production use.
- Verification that site’s MES-related Master Data processes are established and stakeholders trained / informed.
- Testing
- Creation of test plan to validate all user functionality meets need for solution as part of user acceptance testing.
- Ensure Completion of Test Scenarios by Necessary Individuals On-site for each sprint, providing feedback and / or acceptance to development team.
- Get initial feedback from end-users on screens, usability to proactively inform changes that will improve adoption.
- Training
- Ensure training sessions are supported by key personnel (train the trainer)
- Identify MES trainers, superusers as needed.
- Create training materials or coordinate with plant, project teams to create training materials.
- Ensure MES train-the-trainer program developed by KSP training manager & vendor is on schedule and has necessary support.
- Coordinate with KSP training manager & training vendor on execution of train-the-trainer program.
- Work with plant leads to ensure on-site logistics are ready to support training efforts.
- Work with plant leads to ensure support of operator training on MES.
- Go-live
- Ensure on-site readiness for go-live cutover.
- Degree in field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.
- 7+ years’ experience with manufacturing industry
- 5+ years’ experience with manufacturing systems integration, implementation / operation of MES, and project management.
- Experience modeling manufacturing processes for digital representation.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot data flow between manufacturing systems.
- Familiarity with Lean principles, ability to identify and quantify value opportunities in processes.
- Experience implementing agile projects, able to write user stories to communicate customer needs.
- Experience administering and maintaining MES.
- Organize and coordinate operations teams to gather stakeholder information.
- Nice to have: knowledge of products and processes on-site.
- Good command of English
