Minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with software development in C/C++ or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments and the development of Linux device drivers.

We are building the camera system software layers running below Android camera public APIs for Pixel phones, which offer full camera functionality for Google Camera App (GCA) and all third-party camera Apps. Camera system software builds up feature sets and infrastructures that lay out the foundation of delivering industry leading mobile camera experiences.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s software and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software stack development to support Android camera Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
  • Work on Pixel camera peripheral driver development (Image sensor, OIS, VCM, EEPROM, Flash, etc.).
  • Work on Advanced Multi-Camera software frameworks and related use cases enablement.
  • Assist with Pixel camera performance, power and memory optimization, and related tools development.
  • Assist with emerging technologies exploration and validation.
