A day in the life

• Reporting to the General Manager, Taiwan LLO, the Senior Raw Materials Engineer will be the textile manufacturing expert for lululemon global production and RM sourcing.
• Provide direction to Raw Materials vendors ( fabrics & trims) around ways to establish process standards through Raw Materials engineering.
• Implement robust process SOPs for calculating both fabric/trims process losses and bring consistency and transparency in raw Materials costing.
• Develop and maintain “should be” process standards and ensure that our vendors operate on best-in-class standards.
• Liaise with global Raw Materials production/sourcing strategy.
• Study raw materials and components for new processes and production technologies to support Raw Materials development and sourcing on costing.
• Continuously identify and evaluate improvement opportunities on Raw Materials standards and work with Fabric & Trims vendors to establish best in class standards through Raw Materials engineering
• Be in the vendor kitchen on a regular basis and work on continuous improvements around manufacturing processes
• Track and evaluate industry trends, machinery processes, new technologies to drive best processes for fabrics and trims.
• Ensure improvements are sustained through the introduction of work instructions, quality standards and performance measurement.
• Conduct feasibility studies of various projects to determine the value of potential opportunities to lululemon business.
• Track all data of efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Continuously updates cross function partners on all initiatives
• This role will be based in Taipei, Taiwan LLO and require domestic and international travel.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in textile engineering to equivalent is preferred
• 8+ years’ experience working closely & building relationships with off-shore fabric and trim manufacturers
• An expert textile engineer preferably in apparel fabric manufacturing, who clearly understand RM processes and standards
• A multi-task master & can handle multiple projects working with a variety of cross-functional partners
• Confident in your strengths, always open to challenges and prefer discussing face to face
• Excel and PowerPoint is your best friend
• Fluent in both written and spoken English
