Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization

Oversee sustainable yarn supplier relations to generate general industry understanding regarding availability, cost, innovations and to manage capacity growth plans from concept to mainstream rollout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own key yarn supplier relations, to generate general industry understanding regarding availability, cost and innovations
  • Provide relevant information to yarn suppliers about adidas sustainability strategy to influence their strategic choices.
  • Keep up to date on new technologies and suppliers to have a wide portfolio of yarn supplier options
  • In alignment with sustainable material developments, connect with yarn suppliers to create relationship, understand, and evaluate their capacity, capability, and business model.
  • Collaborate closely with Materials Operations while identifying yarn suppliers
  • Based on need, work with the identified yarn suppliers on their capacity and create a capacity growth road map
  • Follow up the capacity growth road map based on the review sequence and update as needed.
  • When required, involve into seasonal yarn costing discussions with T3s
  • When required support other departments to connect with the yarn supplier to work directly on their relevant topics (e.g.: quality, cost, delivery etc)
  • When required organize SEA annual audits of the yarn supplier

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of materials construction and manufacturing, yarn (cotton and Synthetic)
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong knowledge in apparel process and environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proactive and creative approach
  • Fluent in verbal and written English, Mandarin an advantage.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
  • Ability to work with internal Product Data Management systems
Requisite Education And Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Clothing Technology or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience in the Apparel/Textiles field.
  • Minimum 7 years progressive work experience in related field.
