Local Unit & Position Description

Role

DNV are currently looking for a quality engineer and surveyor who will join the renewables certification team located in Taipei and report to the Area Manager for Taiwan and Japan. The team is focused on supporting our clients to reduce the risks as they deliver bigger, more efficient, and lower cost Offshore Wind Farms.

To effectively assist our clients, we are recruiting talented and motivated engineers to join our team.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

DNV have extensive experience with offshore projects and have worked with 80% of the offshore wind projects to date. The candidate joining the team will be provided with excellent training opportunities to improve their technical knowledge and understanding of offshore projects.

The successful candidate will be focusing on the following:

Project Management
  • Coordinate surveys of local and international suppliers for the offshore wind industry
  • Work according to accredited certification processes to ensure a consistent, independent and auditable record
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers
Inspection and survey
  • Take part in quality audits on fabrication workshops
  • Carry out site surveys
  • Review client technical documents and methodology to confirm conformance with standards and certification requirements
  • Participate in development of DNV GL standards and other research-oriented projects
Communication and customer relationships
  • Lead technical reviews and project progress meetings with clients
  • Regular travel within Taiwan and occasional travel to Europe is expected
  • Manage customer relationships and actively develop new business opportunities in the renewables market
Health and safety
  • Compliance with local Health and Safety regulations and DNV’s health and safety policies
Qualifications

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree and a strong desire to work in renewable energy.

We expect that you have one or more of below qualifications:
  • Engineering degree (M.Sc. /B.Sc.) within materials, civil or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience with welding and NDT requirements for steel structures Knowledge of relevant international structural codes and standards
  • Experience of working in manufacturing or construction industries
  • Awareness of Health and Safety industry best practice and local Taiwanese regulations
  • Understanding of the key principles of ISO 9001 Quality Management
  • Professional level written and verbal English and Mandarin
  • Experience in commonly used office software
