Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of experience in product quality development or manufacturing engineering for suppliers in Asian region
  • 3 years of People Management experience, with experience developing talent
  • Experience with implementing quality metrics, capturing Measuring System Analysis, increasing yields and implementing cost-effective methods


Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree, MBA or PhD
  • Certification in advanced manufacturing quality concepts such as Six Sigma, ASQ CQE and Statistical Process Quality
  • Experience with consumer electronics products manufacturing
  • Excellent Technical Leadership experience, with influencing and negotiation skills
  • Extensive working knowledge of mechanical design and electronics schematic

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

The Product Quality team is at the forefront, ensuring we build devices and services that exceed the expectations of the consumers and fulfill the product area’s goals. As the Manager of the team, you will lead a team of Product Quality Managers in career development, setting goals and providing guidance to exceed those goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the Product Quality Engineers based in APAC. Drive the overall product and people strategy of the team
  • Ensure the team is meeting quality goals for the product roadmap
  • Be a cross-functional leader bringing the perspective of the customer to every decision from early design to ramp to sustaining quality improvements
  • Provide direct support and travel internationally to support hardware development builds as needed
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict resolution between internal and external teams
